Grayzone / Blumenthal material also places Hammer in the Hamptons intervention attendee commentary set — the same weekend as alleged pressure to rescind Carlson's AmFest invite.
Why this is a "pressured speaker" node
The AmFest control thesis does not require Smith to have been banned from December AmFest. It requires that platforming him in July was treated by some donors and influencers as unacceptable stage policy. That reading is supported by:
- Public disgust-he-was-even-on-stage posts the night of the debate.
- Later claims donors were furious at Kirk for the matchup.
- The same summer's private texts and Hamptons fight over Israel-critical talent generally.
Whether Smith was ever on a December AmFest shortlist is not documented in this file. The investigable fact is the July booking Kirk controlled.
Motive packaging (do not promote as fact)
Some assassination commentators compress: Kirk platforms Smith → Hammer/donors humiliated → pressure campaign → Kirk killed. That compression is a theory chain. Missing links include a documented kill decision, a shooter link, and any court finding against donors. Tyler Robinson is charged, not convicted. This site rejects stating "donors killed Kirk for booking Smith" as fact.
Counter-reading
Youth conferences stage blood-sport debates for clips. Booking a famous libertarian against a famous pro-Israel columnist is content strategy. Audience boos and cheers are normal. Reading a homicide out of a bad night for one side is post-hoc narrative.
