July 2025 Summit: Smith vs Hammer
This is the event most of the AmFest commentary is actually talking about when it says "AmFest in Florida." It was TPUSA's Student Action Summit (SAS), held July 11–13, 2025 in Tampa, Florida, with Tucker Carlson speaking on July 14. It is the closest thing this case has to a public, on-camera, dated turning point in the coalition fight over Israel — and it happened fifty-eight days before Charlie Kirk was killed.
What happened, by date
- July 11–13, 2025 — The Student Action Summit runs in Tampa. Megyn Kelly appears with Kirk; the session is published to YouTube.
- July 13, 2025 — Dave Smith debates Josh Hammer on stage. The site's video index records the subject matter as the United States, Israel, Epstein, and Mossad. This is the public face of the intra-coalition fight.
- July 14, 2025 — Tucker Carlson speaks at the same conference and, in circulated accounts, tells the audience to "go all the way." Separate accounts attribute to Kirk a private instruction to Carlson to "go max" on Israel and Epstein material. Both phrasings are attributed recollections; no primary recording of the private instruction is public.
- July 16, 2025 — A podcast episode titled Inside the Turning Point USA Fallout is published. The existence of a fallout episode two days later is itself the evidence that the summit produced visible internal conflict.
Why this is the strongest booking evidence in the case
Most of the AmFest motive material is secondhand. This is not. A debate was staged, on Israel and Mossad, at Kirk's own conference, with Kirk as the person who approved the program. Whatever anyone believes about who killed him, the summit is documentary proof that in July 2025 Kirk was actively giving stage time to Israel-critical argument rather than suppressing it.
That is the fact the rest of the summer's disputes run on. Three weeks later, at a donor weekend in the Hamptons, Kirk was allegedly confronted specifically over platforming Israel critics like Carlson — a confrontation that only makes sense if the platforming had already visibly happened. The July 20 overlap
Commentators repeatedly date the July 20, 2025 Google Trends anchor to "the same week Charlie platformed Tucker Carlson for the first time." That framing is doing two things at once, and only one of them holds up:
- Correct: the summit week and the July 20 spike cluster are the same week.
- Loose: it was not Carlson's first appearance at a TPUSA event — he had closed the first night of AmericaFest 2024 (detail). What was arguably new in July 2025 was the content and the pairing with an Israel debate, not the fact of a Carlson booking.

Named participants
Dave Smith, Josh Hammer, Tucker Carlson, and Megyn Kelly are all living people who spoke at a public political conference. Nothing on this page suggests any of them had knowledge of, or involvement in, any crime. One 2026 rumor claims Hammer was "taking calls from Israel" the night before the shooting; no primary call log is public and it is listed elsewhere on the site strictly as an unverified rumor.
Counter-reading
Conferences stage debates. That is the format. A libertarian commentator arguing with a conservative columnist about foreign policy is ordinary programming at a youth political convention, and reading it as the opening move of an assassination plot requires everything that comes afterward to already be assumed. The honest version of the claim is narrower: the summit dates Kirk's willingness to platform the argument, and dating it matters because the disputes over what he did or did not intend all postdate it.
