Platform Mix-Ups — WhatsApp vs Discord

Search X for "Charlie Kirk Discord" and you will see posts that actually refer to:

  1. WhatsApp donor group messages (leave pro-Israel)
  2. Signal / Telegram fear texts
  3. Tyler Robinson Discord confession servers — Craftopia, Gamin, The Corruption, and the account zealous_monkey_55095
  4. Generic dark-mode mockup UIs labeled "group chat"

Only item 3 is Discord-the-product in the legal sense used in Utah filings.

Why the mix-up happens​

  • Lay speakers use "Discord" as slang for any young-person group chat.
  • Screenshot crops remove app chrome (green WhatsApp checks vs Discord channel list).
  • Meme accounts re-typeset real quotes into wrong skins.
  • Grok and search engines then re-amplify the wrong platform noun.
