By mid-2026 the Charlie Kirk text ecosystem includes confirmed chats, described-but-unshown messages, and graphics that overclaim. Investigators who treat every viral screenshot as equal make themselves easy to dismiss. This page is a sorting guide.

Common failure modes
- App cosplay — WhatsApp content pasted into Discord- or iMessage-styled mockups (Discord section).
- Quote inflation — mild donor venting rewritten as genocidal or antisemitic rants.
- Date collapse — 2023 Candace-defense texts presented as "48 hours before death."
- Single-source chains — one Instagram reel → ten X accounts → "everyone knows."
Grok answers on X have explicitly distinguished Kolvet-authenticated donor lines from meme exaggerations that do not appear in the verified chat.
Practical rule for this site
- Prefer named confirmers and multi-outlet reporting for Tier A.
- Label Tier B as claims.
- Do not elevate Tier C into motive conclusions.
- Never treat a text meme alone as proof of who fired a shot.
Josh Hammer / "active murder investigation" asides
Clips circulate in which Josh Hammer is said to have called private texts part of an "active murder investigation" and then questioned whether messages existed before Candace produced them. Investigators read that as a mask-slip about narrative control; Hammer and allies may dispute the edit. Document the clip chain, not a finding of obstruction.
