Best understanding of when he said this
Best understanding: on/about SEPT 9 security exchange. Weeks-before Turek alternate is km_05; this chart focuses the day-before neighborhood.
Date range (working model): Domain: SEPT 7–10 2025 · Primary SEPT 9 exchange; weeks-before alternate in prose (km_05)
The chart below is not a government finding. Bar height is relative likelihood from public claims (X posts, interviews, investigation indexes, master-file notes). Domain is trimmed to where likelihood is non-trivial — no multi-week empty stretch.
What is claimed
A two-sided exchange rather than a single outbound warning, and the only entry that shows a response to a question. A friend reportedly wrote that they hoped Kirk had improved his security; Kirk answered that he had, and added that he knew they wanted him dead. The reply structure is what makes it distinct — it implies the fear was already known to the person asking.
How it entered the record
- Recorded in the Sept 9 meeting chronology alongside the other day-before items.
- Sourcing is described as second-hand in the material where it appears.
- Its "want me dead" phrasing matches KM-05, which is why the two are so often merged.
Verification status
- Second-hand. No named participant has published the thread.
- The security half of the exchange has never been reconciled with what the security detail actually did or did not change before September 10.
- Its date is inherited from the surrounding Sept 9 chronology, not from a timestamp.
Do not confuse it with
Do not merge with KM-05. Turek describes weeks before and a prayer request; KM-12 is a day-before exchange with a different structure and a different (unnamed) counterparty.

Exact public claims and implications about timing (not a complete archive — these are the dated anchors used for the likelihood chart above):
- @Villgecrazylady: "Text conversation … in days before Charlie’s murder — FT: “I hope you’ve increased your security detail.” CK: “I have. I know they want me dead.”"
- @nosoup4knowles: "…texts sent months apart…"
- Site chronology: "Recorded in the Sept 9 meeting chronology alongside other day-before items; second-hand sourcing."
More raw date research is kept in the investigation master file and the on-page X quotes above.
