Panguitch Restaurant Reportedly Told Not to Answer Further Questions (Claims)

On August 31, 2026, @Iwendtster — Ian Wendt, host of The Ian Wendt Show — posted that he had driven to Panguitch, Utah and met the owner of Cowboy's Smokehouse in person. The account he came back with matches the one already on this site from a restaurant server, with one addition that had not been reported before: that after the restaurant handed everything over, the FBI reportedly told them not to say any more or answer any further questions about it.
That is the allegation this page records. It is an attributed, second-hand, self-described paraphrase. It is not a finding, and an instruction to a witness not to discuss an active investigation publicly is not by itself evidence of wrongdoing — see what would make it ordinary below.
The post, in his own words

Fun fact — I went to panguitch and met with the owner as well.
When I asked him what happened, he gave me the same story with ONE very KEY addition I haven't heard yet.
"One of our waiters said they saw Tyler Robinson but I don't think he saw anything…" this is the key addition— He then said, and I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember the EXACT words… But it was something like, "We gave everything we have to the FBI and they just told us not to say anymore or answer any more questions about it."
I also could have swore he said that the server in question was no longer working there as well.

The three claims, separated
They are not equally strong and should not be carried as one thing.

Claim 2 is the one that puts this page in the cover-up section, and it is also the one the poster himself marks as least verbatim. Both facts belong in the record together.
Why this is not just a repeat of the earlier account
This site already carries Panguitch — The Town That Breaks the Timeline, built on the account of a server who says he personally ran the transaction on the evening of September 10, 2025, that staff served the man from 8:55 to 9:47 PM, that they tipped the FBI the next morning and handed over the last four digits of the card, and that nobody ever came back.
Wendt's is a different visit, by a different person, to a different member of staff — the owner rather than the server. What the two accounts have in common is the handover to the FBI and the silence afterwards. What Wendt adds is that the silence was, on the owner's account, instructed rather than merely what happened: not "no one followed up" but "they told us not to answer any more questions."
Those are meaningfully different claims. Non-follow-up is a gap. An instruction is an act.
What would make this ordinary
The site's own standard is to state the innocent reading as plainly as the suspicious one.
Investigators routinely ask witnesses in an active case not to discuss what they know with the press or the public, and there are legitimate reasons for it: it stops a witness's memory being contaminated by other people's versions, it keeps details out of circulation that only a real witness should know, and it protects the eventual testimony from being attacked as rehearsed or media-shaped. On that reading the owner was given standard guidance and repeated it accurately.
A server leaving a small-town restaurant job over the following year is also, on its own, entirely unremarkable — and Wendt does not claim otherwise.
What is still missing
- No recording. The attached video is digitally silent street footage — an empty audio track, no speech at all. The owner's words exist only as Wendt's written paraphrase.
- The owner is not named, and has not made a public statement in his own voice.
- The waiter is not named, and has not spoken publicly.
- No document. Nothing has been produced showing what the restaurant gave the FBI, when, or what was said back. That is the kind of record the proposed FBI and DOJ disclosure law is aimed at.
- Neither party in the case has publicly called any Panguitch witness — the point the earlier server account also turns on.
Where it fits
If a Panguitch witness saw the accused in Panguitch that evening, it collides with the state's account of his night, which has him in the Orem area. That collision is worked through on Sept 10 Travel Routes and Timing and on the Panguitch page. This page is only about the second half of the story: what reportedly happened to the witnesses after they came forward.
That places it beside the other witness-suppression claims collected in this section — local police reportedly told not to interview witnesses, the request to delete video, and the "trauma counseling" intimidation thread. None of those is established either. What makes the set worth keeping together is that they are separate people, in separate places, describing the same shape.
