Commentators draw a pattern line between unexplained drone activity at the July 13, 2024 Butler, Pennsylvania Trump rally shooting attempt and drone-heavy theories around Charlie Kirk's September 10, 2025 death. Mainstream outlets documented airspace drone concerns at Butler; UVU has no equivalent official drone bulletin — only citizen claims and military-flight OSINT.
Butler — documented drone concern
Business Insider and other outlets reported Secret Service worries about drone threats to outdoor rallies after Butler. @BlakeBednarz explicitly linked Butler's "unexplained drone" to his "16 drones" UVU post (see Military Drones on Video).
Butler outcome: Thomas Matthew Crooks named as shooter; drone did not replace the official rifle narrative in court-facing accounts.
NCTC "same group" allegation
Master-file notes from a reported ~45-minute call summarize an NCTC working theory (third-hand in this repo):
- Rogue CIA faction killed Kirk,
- N1098L maneuvers + @JG_CSTT acoustic work are "too damning,"
- Same sophisticated group behind Butler — "same drones, apparently,"
- Modus operandi: kill via drone (or advanced means), blame local patsy, accept collateral damage.
We have not independently verified that NCTC holds this view. Treat as investigator allegation until primary sourcing or FOIA emerges.
