Trusted Investigators
The proposed Law 4: Trusted Investigators would name private citizens with demonstrated independence from government and institutional control to lead oversight teams with law-enforcement and intelligence-community access. The research corpus most often discusses three podcast hosts in that role.
Why independence matters here
When a case touches foreign intelligence, federal evidence control, and rapid narrative formation, public confidence depends on investigators the audience already trusts to pursue contested facts. Mainstream outlets largely deferred to the FBI frame; these hosts did not.

Other high-value investigators (not Law 4 named)
Ian Carroll (ballistics database), Glenn Greenwald (intelligence apparatus), and Project Constitution (forensic video) complement the trusted three but are not the names most cited for Law 4 designation on this site.
Defamation note
Listing someone as a "trusted investigator" describes a proposed legislative role, not a claim that they were victimized by any specific living person's illegal act. We do not assert that government officials targeted these hosts criminally unless citing their own reported allegations with attribution.
