Smartski — X Posts

@2Smartski (Smartski) posted an audio-forensics analysis of the UVU shooting recordings, using waveform and spectrogram panels from audio-editing software on a track labeled rear-right of the tent. Their conclusion — that the shooter was near ground level and close — directly contradicts the official rooftop narrative. These are the poster's attributed claims, not verified findings.

Claims from X posts

  • The post states acoustic analysis "confirms" the shooter was near ground level, about 70 to 90 feet away, not a rooftop. The word "confirms" is the poster's, not a finding.
  • Working shown: crack-bang intervals of 0.08 to 0.14 seconds across all recordings equal roughly 70–90 feet of distance, using the speed of sound at 82°F (1,141 ft/s).
  • The closest audio clip is said to show total crack and bang overlap with the impact clear, putting the source under 100 feet.
  • The crack-bang method is legitimate physics — a supersonic round's sonic crack arrives before the muzzle blast — but other analysts dispute whether the two transients identified are genuinely crack and bang rather than direct sound and echo, and whether recordings were properly time-aligned.

Investigative value

The analysis sits inside the site's acoustic-dispute lane: if the crack-bang gap is real and correctly measured, it conflicts with a ~430-foot rooftop shot from the Losee Center. The screenshot is preserved in the Ballistics & Gun photo cluster. Compare against Acoustic Two-Event Split and the Acoustics Expert sub-cluster before treating either camp as settled.

The counterweight. He argues the camera set and the cumulative evidence are overwhelming, and he goes after the largest independent investigators by name. Kept here because a record with only one side is not a record.

Canon XA55 Audio — Three Booms and Stage Detonation

Professional four-channel audio recorded about forty-six meters from the tent. Researchers say it separates a distant blast from a much louder event at the stage — two sounds, two places.

Acoustic Two-Event Split

Broadcast audio at 48 kHz reportedly separates a distant muzzle blast from a louder event about 46 meters away at the stage. Two sounds, two distances — and the fatal mechanism may not be the rooftop rifle.

.30-06 Energy Mismatch

A .30-06 round carries roughly 3,950 joules against a 9mm's 482. Commentators argue the wound described publicly does not match that energy — the arithmetic is not disputed, the inference is.
