- The crack-bang method is legitimate physics — a supersonic round's sonic crack arrives before the muzzle blast — but other analysts dispute whether the two transients identified are genuinely crack and bang rather than direct sound and echo, and whether recordings were properly time-aligned.

The analysis sits inside the site's acoustic-dispute lane: if the crack-bang gap is real and correctly measured, it conflicts with a ~430-foot rooftop shot from the Losee Center.
