Joe Kent — X Posts

@joekent16jan19 (Joe Kent, Status: Alive) is the former U.S. Army Special Forces officer and National Counterterrorism Center director whose on-record public statements anchor the site's foreign-leads-halted record. Unlike most accounts in this section, Kent is a primary participant speaking about his own halted review — his statements are attributed, on-record claims, not independently confirmed findings, and the FBI has not endorsed his account.

Claims from X posts and public statements

  • Per New York Times reporting (Oct 28, 2025), a counterterrorism review Kent led into possible foreign ties to the assassination was reportedly halted (White House Halt IC).
  • Kent later told Tucker Carlson (March 2026) the NCTC was "stopped from continuing to investigate" (Joe Kent Halt).
  • In a clip attributed to Stew Peters, Kent reportedly stated: "Multiple people had pre-knowledge of Charlie Kirk's assassination and the FBI shut down my investigation before I was able to run down all of my leads."
  • Supporter accounts say Kent stepped down in part to speak publicly about information he believes is being withheld, and that when he pursued foreign-involvement leads, FBI Director Kash Patel stopped him — attributed characterizations Patel has not conceded.
  • July 2026 — On the Julian Dorey Podcast (circulated by @juliandorey), Kent explained NCTC investigates assassinations in parallel with the FBI for foreign ties and stops only once none are established — and described his review being pulled off early (Joe Kent Dorey Interview).

Investigative value

Kent is the single most-cited on-record official voice for the claim that foreign-nexus leads were never exhausted. Evidence rating on his profile: MODERATE (public statements by a named former official). Full profile: Joe Kent.
