The National Desk — X Posts

@TND (The National Desk) is a broadcast news account, not a citizen investigator. It appears in this investigation for one same-day artifact: an on-scene eyewitness interview posted September 10, 2025, that became a fixture of the wound-location debate.

Claims from X posts​

  • September 10, 2025 — An eyewitness at the UVU event told the outlet: "It was like a direct shot to the heart. It looked like right where his heart is, it started going red. He fell back and went to his side." — recorded on this site as the witness's account, not a medical finding (Shot in the Heart). (Source)
  • The clip is preserved in the Shot in the Heart photo cluster because the account is specific about location (the heart, a spreading red patch) and was given within hours, before footage circulated widely.

Investigative value​

Later footage showed visible bleeding at the neck, no bullet hole in the shirt front, and no chest blood — and reporting settled on a neck wound. Researchers ask why so many early on-camera speakers converged on the same wrong location; the ordinary answers (chaotic scenes, repetition, distance) are strong ones, and nothing here accuses the witness or the outlet of anything. The clip is a primary data point in the witness-reversal record.
