Panguitch, Utah
Panguitch is a small city in southern Utah and the county seat of Garfield County. Its population was 1,725 at the 2020 census. The name comes from a Southern Paiute word usually translated "big fish," after the trout lakes nearby. It sits on US-89 near the turn-off to Bryce Canyon National Park, roughly 200 road miles south of Orem and Utah Valley University.
Why Panguitch Is in This Investigation
On Thursday, September 4, 2025, six days before Charlie Kirk was killed, Utah Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson was scheduled here for an 11:30 a.m. lunch with the Garfield County Commissioners and Clerk/Auditor at Cowboy's Smokehouse Cafe, according to the Governor's Office published schedule (governor.utah.gov). Governor Spencer Cox was scheduled in Washington, D.C. that same day.
The point was raised on X by @idontgiveadom (September 28, 2026), who paired it with Henderson's presence at the September 12 "We got him" press conference alongside Cox and FBI Director Kash Patel.

Counterpoint: The route reads as an ordinary rural-schools and county-relations tour down the US-89 corridor. The lieutenant governor oversees elections, and county clerks run them, so a lunch with a county clerk/auditor is part of the job.
Southern Utah in the Wider Case
Panguitch is not on the accused's reported route — that ran down I-15 through Cedar City to Washington County, roughly 60 miles to the west. It is recorded here only because of the September 4 schedule entry.
