On August 30, 2026, @DangerousConspr posted what he called the clearest close-up he had seen of the microphone at the September 10, 2025 UVU event — held in the hand of the AV team member the poster identifies as Phillip Goldsberry Jr., the person described elsewhere in this investigation as having routed the wireless transmitter under Charlie Kirk's shirt rather than clipping it over the collar.

This is the best close-up I have seen to Philip Goldsberry holding the "RODE" mic that looks less and less like a RODE mic the more I see it!
Does anyone else see have a better angle?

The post is a request for a better angle, not a conclusion. The poster is asking whether anyone in the crowd shot the same moment from a position that would resolve the object. That framing is worth preserving: as of this writing nobody has produced the better angle, and the identification of the object rests on a single frame taken from behind and to the side.
What the frame actually shows
The photograph is a video still from the pre-event period at the Fountain Courtyard. Frame left there is a broadcast camera on a tripod and an open laptop on a table. Behind the subject is the Turning Point USA / Yrefy step-and-repeat banner. The man is wearing a white TPUSA t-shirt, black trousers, and a red-and-white "1776" cap, with a single over-ear headset earpiece — the standard talkback rig for AV and production crew running a live event.
In his right hand, held low at his waist, is a small dark cylindrical object. It is approximately the size of a thumb. The frame does not resolve a brand mark, a label, a switch, a port, or a windscreen on it.
That last sentence is the honest limit of this image. It is not a legible photograph of a device. It is a photograph of a hand holding something roughly the right size and colour to be a lavalier capsule or a transmitter body.
The comparison the poster made
The second image in the post is a licensed ZUMA Press Wire photograph by Charles-McClintock Wilson, watermarked "All rights reserved" with a burned-in caption. It is not republished here — it is not ours to republish. It can be seen in the original post.
What it shows is worth describing, because it is the whole of the poster's argument. It is the audience Q&A microphone at the same September 10, 2025 event: a Shure SM58 on a stand, with a RØDE Wireless PRO transmitter gaffer-taped to the mic body. On that unit the green "WIRELESS PRO" label is plainly readable, and the black furry windscreen is unmistakable at a glance.
The poster's point is a contrast in legibility:

Why the comparison is weaker than it looks
The site does not adopt the poster's inference, and the table above is the reason. The two images are not comparable evidence. One is a professional press photograph shot on a long lens at the subject's eye level; the other is a compressed video still of a man walking, with his hand at his waist and the object partly occluded by his fingers. A RØDE Wireless PRO would also fail to resolve under those conditions.
Three further cautions belong on the record:
- The identification of the man is the poster's, not this site's and not a matter of public record. Nobody in the frame is wearing a name badge that is legible.
- The identification of the object is the poster's. A small dark cylinder in an AV tech's hand before a live event could be a lavalier capsule, a transmitter, a spare battery, a cable end, a windscreen, or a Sharpie.
- The timing is not established. Nothing in the frame dates it relative to the moment the transmitter was placed on Charlie Kirk.
Why the frame is still worth keeping
Because of what surrounds it, not what it proves on its own. The under-shirt routing is the part of this thread that is documented and unusual — see AV Team & Mic Setup and mic under, not over. The burnt object recovered from the SUV is the part that citizen investigators argue is the same hardware after the fact. This photograph is one of the very few frames anyone has produced of the hardware before the event, in someone's hand, in daylight.
Its value is therefore as a request to the public, which is exactly how the poster framed it: if you filmed the Fountain Courtyard in the half hour before Charlie Kirk took the stage, and your footage includes this man or this table, the better angle may be in your camera roll.
What would settle it
- A second angle on the same moment, at higher resolution or from the front.
- The equipment inventory for the September 10, 2025 event — make, model, and serial of every wireless unit deployed, which the Fix disclosure laws would compel.
- Chain of custody for the transmitter from the AV cart to the stage to wherever it went after, documented in Removing Explosive Residue Cover-Up.
- A statement from the AV crew on which unit was used and how it was configured, which no investigative body has published.
