11. A second shooter, an exploding microphone, or another mechanism instead of the roof rifle

Attributed claims only

Tyler Robinson is charged, not convicted, has not entered a guilty plea, and is presumed innocent. The rooftop .30-06 is the government's narrative. The exploding microphone is the citizen investigators' conclusion. This site makes no claim that anyone on Charlie Kirk's security team, the AV team, or TPUSA staff knew of, placed, triggered, or removed any device. Nothing indicates any of them did. Electrocution claims are uncorroborated and are not the investigators' conclusion.

The issue in plain words​

There are two very different stories about how Charlie Kirk died at about 12:23 p.m. on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University.

The government's narrative is that a single .30-06 rifle round, fired from the Losee Center roof about 142–175 yards away, struck him in the neck. Charging documents, the medical-examiner line read in court, and the recovered Mauser are all built around that one jumper and one bullet. The official fed claim treats every other mechanism as internet noise.

Most citizen investigators conclude that the fatal event was a small explosive device at the lapel microphone clipped to his shirt — a RØDE Wireless PRO transmitter worn against his chest, with the energy directed as a shaped charge. The Exploding Mic hub and the shaped-charge chain are the long form of that conclusion. This issue is the overview: why the official side says the mic is slop, and why the independent file left the rooftop story.

A second origin stays open in some analyses because of the 911 kit, the missing firing tape, and a wound path that may not fit a single roof line. That is a live question, not the main finding. Electrocution and directed-energy claims are uncorroborated. They are not what the investigators who have stayed with the physical record conclude.

The fed slop side, in full​

Stated at full strength: a sudden fatal neck wound at a public event has an ordinary explanation, and the State put that explanation into a courtroom.

On July 6, 2026, at the preliminary hearing, a state agent testified that the Utah medical examiner's report listed the manner as homicide and the immediate cause as a gunshot wound of the neck. Official-side commentators treated that sentence as the end of every other theory. Fact-check outlets in September 2025 and again in September 2026 repeated the same close: no explosive residue reported, a Mauser .30-06 recovered, a spent casing, fragments at the scene, a campus officer who said he heard gunfire and found a sniper pad on a roof. The autopsy report itself was not published; Utah medical-examiner records are confidential, and the court restricted the exhibit. The only findings read aloud were manner and immediate cause.

The official-narrative accounts add three more points. First, an ATF examiner testified that a spent casing matched the seized Mauser even though the jacket fragment from the autopsy was inconclusive against that rifle — and they say "inconclusive" is common when a fragment is deformed. Second, echoes off courtyard buildings can make one shot sound like two, so the "two booms" on crowd video do not prove two events. Third, the burden is on anyone claiming a covert device: produce residue, a recovered detonator, or a lab that found PETN. Until then, they say, the medical examiner's gunshot line is the fact, and microphone talk is slop.

That is the strongest form of their case. It is why they call a second shooter, a security-team shot, an exploding mic, and electroshock the same pile.

What citizen investigators say​

Most citizen investigators conclude the fatal event was an explosive device at the microphone. Candace Owens put the theory on her show in mid-June 2026, walking through a RØDE pack that Kirk had started wearing on the Fall 2024 tour, a directed charge (investigators name PETN), and a neck hit they read as a directed blast a few inches off a chest aim. Project Constitution and other independent researchers had been posting the frame analysis for months before that. The chain they build, set out on the Exploding Mic hub and the why-not-.30-06 chain, runs like this:

  • The shirt moves outward before any blood appears, in frame analysis from several angles. Investigators describe a pinched fabric path from the left-side pack toward the neck, then a bulge tracking down the chest.   • The camera audio is argued to carry a near-field detonation at the tent, louder than any distant muzzle. The Canon XA55 recording is the exhibit they want independent acousticians to have in the raw.
  • A burnt object, argued to be the remains of the RØDE transmitter, was photographed in the SUV that carried him. See Burnt Object: RØDE Transmitter?. That vehicle was later destroyed.
  • Bomb dogs were reportedly kept off the courtyard. Investigators say PETN in soil is exactly what a dog would have flagged; see Bomb Dogs Standdown.
  • The residue that would prove it was removed: courtyard soil excavated and paved within days (crime-scene paving; removing explosive residue).
  • The Medical Examiner findings quoted in the court filing — hemopericardium, bilateral hemothorax, intercostal and subarachnoid hemorrhaging — are scored by investigators against a rifle round and against a shaped charge on Shape Charge vs Bullet.
  • A former Navy SEAL at the scene publicly said what he saw looked like an explosion. Other veterans said the same. That is testimony of appearance, not a lab result, and investigators treat it as appearance that matches the frames.
  • Accurate Energetic Systems in Tennessee — a plant that made miniaturized anti-personnel charges — exploded on October 10, 2025, one month later. Investigators ask whether that blast destroyed a supply chain. Coincidence is the counter; the coincidence is what they want a procurement file to test. See AES and the Tennessee plant claims.

The wound, the 911 audio, and the missing firing tape also leave a second origin open in some analyses: an all-black tactical figure on the roof whose kit does not match the court T-shirt scout, or a line of fire that is not the Losee roof. This site makes no claim that any named security or AV person fired, had a device, or caused the death. The investigators' main conclusion is the microphone.

A .30-06 from 142–175 yards is, in their view, the wrong cartridge for the official wound picture: fragments inside, a "miracle" stop, no clean public exit, and tissue damage that the gun-and-bullet file does not match to that range. If the metal in Kirk did not tool-mark to the court rifle, the casing-in-the-woods is a different object from the thing that killed him.

Claims of electrocution or a directed-energy weapon circulate in the same threads. They are uncorroborated. They are not the investigators' conclusion.

When this fight ran​

  • 10–16 September 2025. Official-side commentators locked the rooftop .30-06 and "homicide by gunshot" within seventy-two hours. Fact-check outlets spent the next ten days knocking down blood-bag and "he is not dead" clips; the bulge under the shirt, they said, was the microphone Kirk always wore.
  • October 10, 2025. The AES plant in Tennessee exploded. Independent researchers began tying the DoD miniaturized-charge contract to the mic file in the weeks after.
  • 16–17 June 2026. Candace Owens devoted airtime to the exploding-mic theory. That is the week the independent file moved from specialist threads into a mass audience. Official-side commentators answered that neither the prosecution nor the defense had mentioned explosives in court.
  • 6 July 2026. The medical-examiner gunshot line was read at the preliminary hearing. Official-narrative accounts called the mic "dismantled." Investigators noted that the full report stayed sealed and that the ATF fragment still did not tool-mark to the court rifle.
  • August–September 2026. A second fact-check wave treated "persistent conspiracy theories" as the story, still citing the examiner's one-sentence cause of death.

Why it matters for Tyler Robinson​

If Charlie Kirk was killed by a device at his microphone, then the rooftop rifle is not the murder weapon, and a man accused of firing it from 150 yards away could not have caused the death in the way he is charged. That is the deepest reason investigators believe Tyler Robinson is being framed: the case against him is built around a mechanism they conclude did not kill Charlie. Even a second origin that is still a rifle would still break the "one jumper, one bullet, one defendant" package. Either way, the mechanism is the charge.

What would settle it​

  • The full, unredacted autopsy report, photographs, and the medical examiner's testimony, under the transparency Fix this site has already sketched.
  • The raw multitrack audio from every recording device at the event, released to independent acousticians.
  • Chemical testing of Charlie Kirk's shirt, necklace, and the burnt object from the SUV, if they still exist.
  • The chain of custody for the microphone transmitter and its receiver, and the AV-team setup notes (AV Team and Mic Setup).
  • The records of what was removed from the courtyard, and when, before it was paved.
  • A public ATF and FBI lab file on the jacket fragment, not a one-word "inconclusive."
  • Tasking and sensor logs for aircraft over the courtyard that day — a separate file, but the same day's command picture (Planes).
