3. Does court or hearing video show Tyler Robinson on the roof in 4K?

Attributed claims only

Tyler Robinson is charged, not convicted, has not entered a guilty plea, and is presumed innocent. This page does not say any commentator, agent, or prosecutor said anything untrue. It compares public descriptions of hearing video with the hearing transcript and with the footage that is public. This site makes no claim that any living person or organization committed a crime or had foreknowledge.

The issue in plain words​

The state says a figure seen on the roof of the Losee Center at UVU on September 10, 2025 was Tyler Robinson, and that a rifle shot came from there. The government's narrative is a rooftop .30-06. Citizen investigators conclude Charlie Kirk was killed by an explosive at the microphone. The public has only seen grainy, distant clips of that roof figure.

During and after the July 2026 preliminary hearing at the Fourth District Court in Provo, a claim spread: that the courtroom had been shown a far better copy, enhanced HD and some 4K, with a clear face, a clear plate, clear clothing, and rooftop actions timed to the shot. If that were true, the blur in public clips would not matter.

So this issue asks one factual question. What did the hearing video actually show, and did any of it show a clear face firing a rifle?

The fed slop side, in full​

The official-narrative side says commentators who attended the hearing, Benny Johnson among them, described seeing enhanced HD and some 4K footage: a crystal-clear face, a license plate, clothes, and rooftop actions timed to the shot. On this view, the public blur is irrelevant because the court saw the good copy, and people who argue from the blurry clips are arguing from the wrong evidence.

Johnson's July 10, 2026 post, from outside the courthouse, is the canonical version. He wrote that Judge Tony Graf had cameras turned off, that Erika Kirk had asked them to be there, and that the enhanced set showed "every movement" that day, "zoomed in," with "some footage in 4K." He listed a crystal-clear face, a plate number, clothing details, and rooftop actions timed to the minute Charlie Kirk was killed. He said the courthouse gasped. He said the footage would eventually be released. Fox News ran him the next night calling it an "evidentiary bombshell." Official-side commentators treated that as the close of the identity question.

In fairness, the state did play an enhanced compilation at the hearing, and a prosecutor argued that the enhanced version makes it easier to "truly see what's going on." That part is real. Agent testimony on Day 1 and Day 2 walked the courtroom through campus cameras, a Dodge Challenger, and a figure on the Losee roof. The fed claim that the rooftop figure is Robinson is built on that compilation.

What citizen investigators say​

Other attendees on the same day disputed the description. Brandi Siciliani wrote from inside the room: there is no high-quality, zoomed-in footage showing anyone taking a shot; the video shown is the same distance as the public clip of a figure jumping off the roof; people who know the tape will not be released are misrepresenting what was shown. Project Constitution named three same-day attendees — Billie Webb, Elizabeth Lane, and Siciliani — as confirming that what was described as crystal-clear 4K of a face on the roof did not happen. Their account is that most clips shown were already public, that only a few new clips were added, and that none was face-clear 4K of a shot being fired.

The hearing transcript supports a narrower picture than "crystal-clear 4K." FBI Agent David Hull described State's Exhibit 12.1 as a compilation of UVU camera video, prepared by the Utah County Attorney's Office, showing the movements of the person he believes is Robinson around campus from September 10 into the morning of September 11. He testified that it has zooms that were not a function of the cameras, that some people were blurred, and that red circles were added. That is an edited compilation of campus surveillance, not a new high-resolution camera. The preliminary hearing overview collects all five days.

The rooftop footage that circulates is grainy. Reviewers report no visible rifle, no recoil, and no muzzle flash at the moment of the shot. That is the No Muzzle Flash or Recoil page. Investigators say that if a clear 4K recording of the figure firing existed, it would be the single most powerful exhibit in the case, and it would not need to be described secondhand.

Candace Owens later posted stills drawn from the set the influencers were shown, and said there is evidence the person in those stills might not be Robinson at all. That is the opposite of a closed identification. The enhanced stills released on September 11 and the CoverUp page on those stills already showed the state working from processed images. When this fight ran​

  • July 10–11, 2026. The hearing-room claim. Official-side commentators who had been invited in described 4K. Same-day attendees who had camped for a seat described the public blur plus red circles. Fox ran the "bombshell" language the next night.
  • July 12–29, 2026. The claim was clipped, quoted, and treated as a substitute for a public exhibit. Investigators answered with attendee notes and with Hull's own words about zooms and circles.
  • August 10, 2026. Candace Owens advertised exclusive stills from the "4K footage" the influencers were shown, and said the person might not be Robinson. The fight moved from "the court saw it" to "show the stills."

Why it matters for Tyler Robinson​

Identification is the heart of the case against Robinson. If the only rooftop images are distant, compressed, and enhanced after the fact, the identification rests on interpretation, not on a clear picture. Claims that "the courtroom saw 4K" can close public debate without anyone ever seeing that footage. Investigators say a framing case would need exactly that: confidence about images the public is not allowed to check.

The chain that the rooftop figure is not identified as Robinson walks five problems with the identification. What would settle it​

  • Public release of State's Exhibits 12.1 and 12.4, with the native-resolution source files behind them.
  • The camera model, resolution, and frame rate of each UVU camera used in the compilation.
  • The enhancement work product: what was zoomed or altered, by whom, and when.
  • Any footage, from any camera, that shows the figure aiming or firing.
  • Sworn descriptions from more than one uninvited attendee of what the enhanced set actually contained.
