36. The "Jerome" alternate-shooter variant
This site makes no claim that any named person, including anyone called Jerome, fired, was present in any role, or was involved in Charlie Kirk's death in any way. This site has not identified any real person behind that name and does not publish one. Tyler Robinson is claimed to be the shooter; he is charged, not convicted, has not entered a guilty plea, and is presumed innocent.
The issue in plain words
Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. The government's story is a single rooftop rifle shot from the Losee Center, with Tyler Robinson as the lone jumper. Citizen investigators conclude he was killed by an intelligence-service-level explosive at the microphone.
Soon after the 10th, a family of online claims grew up around a narrower idea: if there was a bullet at all, it came from a different angle than that roof. Some versions point south. Some point closer than 150 yards. Some point at the stage area itself. A few of those versions attach a first name to the different origin. One of those names is "Jerome."
This page records the variant because it is part of the public argument, and because official-side commentators use it as a straw man. Name a person, call the whole file fan fiction, and walk away from the wound geometry. That move is the issue. The name is not.
Side by side
| Fed Slop Side | Fan fiction. One jumper, one rifle, one defendant. |
| Citizen Investigators | A named alternative origin in the online "bullet from a different angle" set. Not the investigators' main line and not retired by a bind-over. This site makes no claim that any named person fired or was involved. |
The fed slop side, in full
The strongest official-side case is simple. One person is seen on campus video going onto the Losee Center roof. One Mauser is recovered in the woods. One defendant is charged. Utah's Department of Public Safety said in the first week that the shooter "acted alone" on campus. On September 1, 2026, the judge bound Robinson over for trial on aggravated murder. Official-narrative accounts treat that bind-over as the public close of every other origin.
On this view, alternate-shooter names are invented by people who reject the charging package and will attach a label to anyone in a still. Treating those names as serious, they say, is how private people get harassed. The July 2026 preliminary hearing, in their telling, "dismantled" conspiracy claims: roommate recordings, Discord logs, DNA on a towel and a screwdriver, and a campus track. If the courtroom saw a jumper, the Jerome thread is noise.
They also point at the loudest second-shooter clips from October 2025 — frame-by-frame "palm gun" posts and bush-behind-the-tent hunts — as proof that named-alternate talk is content, not a case. If those clips were wrong, they argue, every other-angle claim is wrong with them.
What citizen investigators say
Investigators say the Jerome variant is not their main line, and they do not rely on it. Their main conclusion is on the shaped-charge chain: Charlie Kirk was killed by an explosive at his microphone, not by a rifle round from any named person and not by a rooftop .30-06. Electrocution claims are uncorroborated and are not their finding.
What they do say is that the general "different angle" question has not been answered. The state's own brief describes a downward path, yet the damage it quotes runs down the left side of the neck from C2 to C7. The wound-trajectory page lays out why a 5–9° descent from ~142–175 yards should have hit face or jaw first. One acoustic analysis argues the decisive sound came from the south. Another, on uncompressed Canon audio, argues a two-event split: a distant muzzle and a louder event at the tent. Those are physical questions. They do not need a first name.
Project Constitution and other independent investigators spent October 2025 on second-origin clips. Ryan Matta, in the same window, publicly challenged people who thought they saw a second shooter to slow the video and show the bullet, and asked TPUSA to release the original Sony cameras pointed at Charlie. The fight was over the tape. It was not a verdict for any named alternative.
A bind-over is a probable-cause finding, viewed in the light most favorable to the state. It means there is enough to go to trial. It does not rule out other angles, other mechanisms, or a patsy overlay. It is not a guilty plea. Robinson has entered none. That is why investigators say the angle question, in every form, stays open until the wound record and the raw audio are produced.
When this fight ran
- 10–16 September 2025. Official-side accounts locked the one-jumper, one-rifle frame within days. Outlets posted rooftop clips as "the assassin." Utah DPS said he acted alone on campus.
- Late September–October 2025. Named "different angle" variants, including the Jerome thread, spread alongside louder second-shooter videos. Independent investigators both amplified and demolished specific clips in that window.
- July 6–11, 2026. The preliminary hearing. Official-narrative coverage treated the package as having dismantled alternate-origin claims. Other same-day attendees said the "enhanced" roof clip was a zoom of footage already public.
- 1 September 2026. Bind-over. Official-side commentators treated probable cause as the end of every named variant. Investigators treated it as the lowest bar in the file.
Why it matters for Tyler Robinson
If the wound or the sound points away from the roof, the case against the man on the roof weakens, whoever else is or is not involved. The fair way to test the angle is with the wound record, the courtyard 3D scan, and the multitrack audio — not by circulating a first name. The weakest named theories are often used to dismiss the strongest questions: no public firing video, a 911 kit that does not match the court rifle, and a cause of death that investigators say is the microphone. Keeping this variant in its place protects those questions.
What would settle it
- The medical examiner's wound track, with direction and angle, reviewed by independent experts.
- The raw multitrack audio from every device at the event, for acoustic direction-finding.
- The state's 3D scan of the courtyard, with line-of-sight tests from the roof and other positions.
- Full native video of the tent at the moment of the shot, including the Sony cameras pointed at Charlie.
- A public statement of what, if anything, the charging documents say about any person other than Robinson.
