Brian Harpole was Charlie Kirk's security chief on September 10, 2025 — head of contracted private protection through Rockhouse Integrity Group LLC (DBA Integrity Security Solutions). He was in the SUV when Kirk was shot, reported hearing "two distinct sounds," and shielded Kirk's body with Dan Flood. Harpole then became one of the most public-facing critics of UVU Police Chief Jeff Long's rooftop security failures, citing pre-event texts he sent Long about roof concerns. He has also publicly refuted conspiracy theories about the shooting. This page does not assert Harpole knew of any assassination plan or committed any wrongdoing.

Background​

Harpole is a former police officer who founded Integrity Security Solutions / Rockhouse Integrity. The investigation file places his company — not Shaffer Security Group — as the September 10 vendor, in a hybrid model with UVU campus police (~six officers, ~25% of department) and no bodycams documented that day.

He is linked historically to Shaffer Security Group alumni networks (Greg Schaffer) but the file states SSG had not worked with TPUSA since 2022 while familiar protective-detail styling still appeared in crowd footage. See Security Team — Brian Harpole and Integrity Security.

His father Bobby Harpole appears in Security Team documentation as a related industry figure — family context only, not an event-day assignment claim on this page.

Connection to September 10, 2025​

According to Harpole's public interviews and the investigation file:

  • He was in the black SUV with Kirk immediately after the ~12:23 PM shooting alongside Flood, Rick Cutler, Justin Davis, and Frank Turek.
  • He described hearing "two distinct sounds" when the shot occurred — a detail cited in Mic and ballistics commentary as potentially significant. Interpretation disputed; treated here as his attributed observation.
  • He and Flood jumped on Kirk to shield him from further harm during transport.
  • Cutler reportedly held Harpole's shirt to keep him stable in the cabin while Harpole administered first aid en route to Timpanogos Regional Hospital.
  • Before the event, Harpole texted UVU Police Chief Jeff Long about rooftop security concerns — texts referenced in Shawn Ryan Show and Salt Lake Tribune coverage as evidence vulnerabilities were flagged.
  • In those interviews, Harpole criticized UVU police for not securing rooftops as promised despite crowd size exceeding estimates — the shooter used a Losee Center rooftop line of fire.
  • He has publicly refuted online conspiracy narratives about the event and security team conduct.

Harpole v. Owens Defamation Suit (Reported)​

Citizen investigators and legal-watch accounts on X have tracked a civil defamation action captioned roughly as Harpole v. Owens (Middle District of Tennessee, docket references such as 3:26-cv-00556 appear in public posts). According to those posts:

  • Harpole allegedly sued Candace Owens, associated companies, and others over claims that he conspired in Kirk's assassination — claims this site does not adopt as findings.
  • In July 2026, accounts including @inion_De_1893 and @MargoinWNC reported that all district and magistrate judges in the Middle District of Tennessee recused, with the Sixth Circuit expected to assign an out-of-district judge. Recusal orders and case status should be verified against PACER/court records; social-media summaries can be incomplete.
  • Posts also referenced motions to preserve electronic communications on multiple platforms. Preservation fights are common in high-profile defamation suits and do not, by themselves, prove any underlying criminal theory.

Counter-narrative on X: Accounts such as @mandasue85 argue the shooter is Tyler Robinson and reject lists that name Harpole, TPUSA, or Erika Kirk. Those posts are also opinion, not court findings.

Rooftop-Text Debate on X (Both Sides)​

  • @ShawnRyanShow (Nov 2025) amplified Harpole's attributed line that security told UVU's chief about student roof access and was told "I got you covered."
  • @ProjectConstitu and allied threads argue the same text chain undercuts a pure "police-only rooftops" narrative and instead raises questions about whether private security failed to staff roofs after authorization — framed by those posters as negligence. No court has found criminal negligence against Harpole or Integrity Security.
