Dan Flood is described in the investigation file and public reporting as TPUSA's Head of Security — the senior security director assigned to protect Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. He was one of five occupants in the black SUV that rushed Kirk to Timpanogos Regional Hospital and, according to Brian Harpole's public accounts, physically shielded Kirk's body immediately after the shot. Flood also appears in pre-event death-threat message threads as a named recipient on Signal and Telegram. Investigators treat him as a core timeline witness for everything that happened inside the SUV and in security planning before the event.

Background​

Flood is identified in research notes and Security Team documentation as Charlie Kirk's security director, working under the hybrid model that combined TPUSA private close protection with UVU campus police for perimeter duties on September 10, 2025. Crowd-sourced footage descriptions (not official roster releases) characterize him in a dark blue button-up shirt and Ray-Ban-style glasses, with some threads speculating the glasses recorded video — an unverified equipment claim.

Connection to September 10, 2025​

According to Brian Harpole's interviews (Shawn Ryan Show, Salt Lake Tribune) and the master witness list in the investigation file:

  • Flood was in the SUV with Kirk when the shooting occurred and during the emergency transport to Timpanogos Regional Hospital (~2.6 miles from UVU).
  • He reportedly jumped on top of Kirk alongside Harpole to shield him from further harm immediately after the shot.
  • As TPUSA Security Director, he would have held responsibility for coordinating the private security posture with campus law enforcement — a lighter hybrid setup than prior Kirk events, with no bodycams documented that day per the investigation file.
  • Candace Owens has reportedly displayed texts in which Charlie Kirk told donors, TPUSA members, and Flood he feared he would be "executed tomorrow" the night before September 10. The file also records Signal/Telegram recipients including Andrew Kolvet, with a related thread referencing Erika Kirk and a message that "The Left will kill me" — presented as reported commentary, not independently verified.

  • Cattle Barons Ball thread: An anonymous post described as a childhood friend claimed the last time they saw Flood, he was "running security for some Dallas billionaires at the Cattle Barons Ball" — a Texas charity gala. The same commentary links Flood to claims his team had no security plan for Kirk's next scheduled stop (Therese Bible College, September 11). These raise open questions about scheduling and client load; no conflict of interest has been established.
  • June 2026 SUV interior photos: Owens reportedly surfaced SUV interior images that other researchers tied to Mic — Exploding Mic Theory shaped-charge debris hypotheses. Flood is named in seating-diagram threads but the site does not assert any criminal act by named SUV occupants.

Flood's knowledge of pre-event threat traffic and security plan is a high-value documentary topic for investigators — not a basis to claim he enabled the killing.
