Tyler Robinson

Tyler Robinson is the individual charged with the assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University. He was 22 years old at the time, residing at 3419 S River Rd #73, St. George, Utah.

Role in the Investigation​

Robinson is the officially accused suspect. The investigation examines both the official narrative — that he acted as a lone gunman — and alternative theories that he may have been a patsy, recruited operative, or that the evidence against him contains significant inconsistencies.

Official Narrative (as reported)​

According to the charging documents filed by Officer Brian Davis of the Utah State Bureau of Investigation:

  • Robinson was captured on UVU surveillance cameras arriving on campus in a gray Dodge Challenger at approximately 08:29 on September 10, wearing a maroon t-shirt, light shorts, black hat, and light shoes.
  • At approximately 11:50, surveillance captured an individual (described as the suspect) walking across campus toward the Losee Center building.
  • At approximately 12:17, the suspect climbed over a wall onto the Losee Center rooftop.
  • At approximately 12:22, the suspect assumed a prone shooting position on the rooftop edge facing the courtyard.
  • At 12:23, Charlie Kirk was shot. The suspect sprinted north on the rooftop, dropped off the northeast corner, and fled north.
  • A Mauser Model 98, .30-06 caliber bolt-action rifle with a scope was recovered nearby, wrapped in a dark towel. Inscriptions were found on the casings.
  • Robinson turned himself in at the Washington County Sheriff's Office on the evening of September 11, accompanied by his parents and a retired detective family friend.

Key Investigative Questions​

The investigation raises questions including:

  • Clothing changes: Robinson was observed in different outfits throughout the day. The suspect on the rooftop wore a long-sleeve black shirt with an American flag/eagle print, dark jeans, and Converse shoes — different from what Robinson wore arriving on campus.
  • Timeline gaps: Several hours between his campus arrival and the suspect's rooftop appearance lack surveillance documentation.
  • Mirandizing timeline: Documents indicate Robinson was reportedly Mirandized at 6:25 PM on September 11 — before the officially reported 8:04 PM call from Sheriff Brooksby, raising questions about when authorities actually learned of his identity.
  • Discord messages: The confession messages attributed to Robinson appeared at 7:57 PM on September 11, over an hour after he was reportedly already Mirandized.
  • Ballistics questions: Citizen investigators question whether a .30-06 from the rooftop distance matches the observed wound pattern.
