Annotated Frame: What Is He Grabbing?

A frame open in an iPad video editor, timestamped 3:13 AM Mon Oct 13 in the device status bar and marked 85 percent battery. The video frame shows the crowd ducking and scrambling with the stage structure and barricades behind them. Typed annotations on the screen read: "Watch him, what is he grabbing? Who runs out?" and "This appears as a flash, then travels right. I posted a series of pictres and a slowed video."
The annotations set out two separate claims. One concerns a person in the crowd and what they may be picking up -- which connects to the wider thread about people reaching toward the stage area in the seconds after the shot. The other concerns a light artifact the researcher describes as a flash moving laterally across frame.
Both are questions posed by the person doing the review, and both are stated that way here. A flash in compressed footage can be a reflection, a sensor artifact, or rolling-shutter distortion as easily as anything else, and nothing about a figure in a crowd reaching down establishes what they were doing or who they were. No identification has been confirmed and no wrongdoing by anyone is indicated.
