Name Search Returns an Academic Profile
What This Image Shows
A screenshot of a Google Scholar academic profile. The entry reads "Waleed E. Mahmoud, Departement of Physics, Faculty of Science, Suez Canal University, Egypt. Verified email at science.suez.edu.eg. Homepage. Natural science / Physics." A profile photograph of a man in a white shirt, dark tie and dark hat appears at the left.
This is a name-search result, and it is included precisely because it illustrates a hazard in this thread. The investigation's notes carry several similar names -- Waleed Mahmoud, Walid Mahmoud Abdel Nasser, Waleed Mamood -- and searching them turns up unconnected people who happen to share common Arabic given names and patronymics.
The person shown here is an academic physicist at an Egyptian university with a public scholarly record. There is no indication he has any connection to any aircraft, to any diplomat, or to the events of September 10, 2025, and none is suggested. Publishing this capture is a caution about identification, not an identification: a matching name in a search engine is not evidence about anybody.
The separate diplomat's published biography is on Photo 89. For the flight records, see SU-BTT Israel/Egyptian Jet.
