Seventeen is the highest marker number visible across this sub-cluster, which puts a floor under the scale of the search: at least seventeen separately catalogued points along the corridor between the campus and the recovery area. That is a substantial evidence haul, and it belongs to a Utah Department of Public Safety examiner rather than to the federal team.
None of the seventeen has been publicly itemised. The defense has raised the handling of physical evidence repeatedly in this case, from the condition of the recovered bullet fragment to the volume and timing of discovery material, and an unpublished inventory of a seventeen-point scene sits squarely in that dispute.
