Annotated Frame Marked Before Impact

What This Image Shows

A screenshot of a mobile video player, letterboxed, with the progress bar, play button, volume, and closed-caption controls still on screen. The frame shows a pixelated outdoor crowd behind grey steel crowd-control barriers. A large bright cyan arrow points down and to the left toward a seated man in a white t-shirt, and two small magenta circles and one white circle mark other points nearby.

The annotations are the argument: the arrow identifies a person or a position the analyst considers significant in the moments before impact, and the circles flag secondary points in the same frame. Nothing in the pixels themselves labels who or what is being marked, and the resolution does not support identifying anyone.

Frames like this belong to the broader effort to reconstruct the courtyard from crowd-sourced phone video, which is the only footage the public has. The high-resolution campus footage that would settle these questions has not been released — see UVU HD Footage Withheld and Videos Deleted Remotely. Related frame analysis is at Eyewitness Mobile Video.
