Close-Up of the Chain at the Neckline
Next Image
What This Image Shows
An extreme close-up crop of a neck, jawline, and left shoulder. The subject wears a white athletic shirt and a silver box-link chain. A hand-drawn black circle has been added around the section of chain where it rests on the skin near the collar. No text or markings appear anywhere in the frame.
The circle is the claim, and the claim concerns the chain rather than the person. A line of research in this case holds that the fatal injury was not caused by a rifle round at all but by a small device worn or attached at chest or neck level, and images of what was around the neck and collar that day are collected to support or refute that reading.
Nothing in this crop resolves the question. It is a low-magnification enlargement of compressed footage, and jewellery, a lapel microphone clip, a cable, and a shadow all read similarly at this scale. The alternative-mechanism argument is set out at Alternative Kill Mechanisms, Exploding Pendant and Shaped Charge, and Mic versus Pendant, with the microphone hardware itself documented at RODE Wireless Mic.
