The file name given to this image by the researcher who circulated it states the argument outright: that the officially described path is wrong. The red lines are two competing traces — roughly where the official account is understood to place the path, and where the annotator believes the described wound actually sits.

As with every diagram in this part of the cluster, the annotation is an argument rather than a finding, and it is being made without access to the full autopsy. That is the underlying problem researchers keep returning to: the medical record that would settle the question has not been released.
