This small cluster covers the "CIA assassin" thread — the argument, made by independent researchers, that the CIA's own declassified paperwork shows the agency once studied whether a person could be made to attempt an assassination involuntarily. The anchor document is a January 22, 1954 Project ARTICHOKE memo, republished in the CIA reading room, that evaluates drugging a subject through "a single uncontrolled social encounter" and then using hypnosis and drugs to induce an assassination attempt against a foreign politician "or, if necessary, an American official." Researchers raise it in the Charlie Kirk case to argue that a programmed or handled shooter is documented capability, not invented fiction.
