Claim That UVU Erased a Former CIA Officer's Profile
What This Image Shows
This screenshot, captured September 28, 2025, shows a post by the account @HustleBitch_ claiming that Utah Valley University removed the staff profile of Rusty Needs, described as a former CIA officer and professor, after the assassination.
The attached collage carries the evidence for the claim. On the left is a Facebook post from the UVU National Security Society dated September 10, 2019, promoting a presentation during "NATIONAL SECURITY WEEK 2019" titled "THE ETHICS OF CIA DETENTION AND DRONE OPERATIONS" by "Prof. Rusty Needs, Former CIA Officer," circled in red. On the right is a portrait stamped diagonally with a red "MISSING" mark, above a UVU navigation bar and a "404: Page Not Found" error page.
The archived 2019 flyer is the solid part: it is a public university posting that describes this individual as a former CIA officer, which is not itself remarkable — universities routinely hire former practitioners to teach ethics and policy, and advertise them as such. The weak part is the inference. A 404 error shows a URL no longer resolves. It does not show when the page came down, who removed it, or why, and university sites are reorganized constantly.
Rusty Needs has not been accused of any offense by any authority, and no agency has said he has any connection to events of September 10, 2025. Nothing here establishes that any person or agency had advance knowledge of the assassination or any role in it. Prosecutors have charged a domestic suspect who has not been convicted.
