Harrison Smith Post Four Weeks Before the Shooting

Cropped dark-mode screenshot of an X post by Harrison H. Smith dated 8 13 25 relaying a secondhand claim about Charlie Kirk

What This Image Shows

A cropped screenshot of a post on X in dark mode. The author is shown as Harrison H. Smith with a cross symbol and a blue verification badge, handle truncated to @Harris, dated 8/13/25. The post reads: I am not gonna name names, but I was told by someone close to Charlie Kirk that Charlie thinks Israel will kill him if he turns against them. The names Charlie Kirk and Charlie are rendered in a heavier weight than the surrounding text. Engagement metrics are cropped out of the frame.

The date is the reason this capture matters. August 13, 2025 is roughly four weeks before September 10, 2025, which places the statement before the event rather than after it. That distinguishes it from the large volume of retrospective commentary, and it is why researchers treat it as a contemporaneous record of what was being said at the time.

What it records is a secondhand relay: the poster says an unnamed person close to Kirk told him what Kirk believed. It is not a statement by Kirk and it names no one. Harrison Smith is also cited among those who say Kirk spoke to them about threats in the weeks beforehand, which is contested — Erika Kirk has said on Glenn Beck program that she has his phone and that no such messages exist. Both positions are recorded on Reported Quotes and Warnings. See also Israel Donors and Motive and the Quotes sub-cluster, which holds the full-post version of the same capture.
