AI Overview Giving Two Dates for One Video

What This Image Shows
A screenshot of a Google AI Overview panel, black and blue text on white, summarizing what search results say about the custody of Tyler Robinson in September 2025.
The panel reads: "Based on the search results, a video shows an encounter involving Tyler Robinson on the evening of September 11, 2025, with a referenced timestamp of 03:36:53 in the document identified as Bates 003996-R2." Its bullets then state: "Context: The document mentions that on the evening of September 11, 2025, a family member of Tyler Robinson contacted the Washington County Sheriff's Office with information that Robinson had confessed to or implied they committed an incident. Encounter: The video at timestamp 03:36:53 shows an in-person encounter with investigators on September 12, 2025. Arrest: The same records indicate Tyler Robinson was arrested for the offense on September 12, 2025, at 4:00 AM."
Same exhibit, same internal timestamp 03:36:53, two different dates one bullet apart. Researchers point to that as showing the public record itself is inconsistent about when custody began. The fair counterweight is that an AI overview summarizes sources rather than being one, and its internal contradiction may simply reflect contradictory reporting rather than contradictory records. Either way the question stands. Robinson is charged, not convicted. See Mirandized Sept 11 Image and Custody Timeline and Confession.
