Investigators read the gap between the 6:25 PM Miranda reading and the 10:00 PM and 01:58 AM entries as evidence that the formal arrest paperwork was generated hours after the suspect was already being held and questioned. The roughly four-hour interval between the listed arrest time and the listed arrival is consistent with the drive from southern to northern Utah, which is the basis of attorney Baron Coleman's argument that the arresting officer must have departed hours earlier. The counterargument, documented on this site, is that a person may lawfully be held on an investigative hold for up to 24 hours before rights are read, so a delay alone establishes nothing.
