Defense Filing Quoting Bates 003996-R2
What This Image Shows
A page from a defense filing quoting the discovery video exhibit Bates 003996-R2, shared by @VLuvMully on X on July 11, 2026.
The filing reproduces two logged moments from the recording. At internal video position 03:36:53, shown as 06:25 PM: "So Tyler, um, before we begin, I'm just gonna read you your rights... you have the right to remain silent..." At 03:37:38, shown as 06:26 PM: "Uh, I would like to speak with my, uh, legal counsel. I'm hoping for a fellow in Utah named Doug Terry."
Investigators note two things about the exhibit. It is Bates-stamped in Washington County, which they argue places the encounter at the Sheriff's Office in Hurricane, Utah rather than in Utah County. And the reading and the immediate invocation of counsel are logged to the minute, which is why the post argues the Miranda record and custody log cannot be quietly revised. What the page does not carry on its face is a date — that is supplied by argument from the arresting officer's travel time, the wording about a lawyer's office being closed "for the night," and the booking sheet. Tyler Robinson is charged, not convicted. See Custody Timeline and Confession and Baron Coleman Analysis.
