The name comes from the disputed crew list for N1098L, the Bombardier Global 6500 that dropped to roughly 203 feet near the Utah Valley University campus on the morning of September 10, 2025 and repeated the maneuver about twenty-three minutes after the shooting. Crew names for private ISR flights are not published by the FAA, the operator, or any flight-tracking service, so the lists circulating on X are unverified and mutually contradictory. One list names J. "Jax" E. Donovan as second pilot, crediting him with 2,800 flight hours and certification for solo qualifications after the Orem passes.

The shape here argues against rather than for the wider claim, and it is worth saying so plainly. Whatever drove interest in this name happened in late 2024 and stopped; there is no pre-event ramp in the summer of 2025 and no post-event surge either. A name genuinely tied to an aircraft at the center of a global story would be expected to spike after September 10, and this one does not — which is more consistent with the name belonging to someone unconnected, or with the crew list itself being inaccurate.
