Michael Harlan — DC, August 24 to 30 2025

Google Trends chart for the search term Michael Harlan filtered to the Washington DC market with an August 2025 tooltip

What This Image Shows

A Google Trends capture for the search term "Michael Harlan", filtered to Washington DC (Hagerstown), Past 12 months, All categories, Web Search. The axis runs October 20, 2024 to September 21, 2025. The series is flat at zero except for two sharp spikes, both reaching the maximum of 100, and the tooltip is parked on the later one: August 24-30, 2025.

The name comes from the disputed crew list for N1098L, the Bombardier Global 6500 that dropped to roughly 203 feet near the Utah Valley University campus on the morning of September 10, 2025 and repeated the maneuver about twenty-three minutes after the shooting. Crew names for private ISR flights are not published by the FAA, the operator, or any flight-tracking service, so the lists circulating on X are unverified and mutually contradictory. One list names CTP (Ret.) Michael R. Harlan as pilot in command of the September 10 flight.

Two spikes rather than one is what makes this the most-cited name in the cluster: an isolated peak can be an artifact, a repeated peak on the same rare name in the same bucket is a pattern. The later of the two falls in the last full week of August 2025, roughly two weeks before the event; the earlier one is dated in the companion captures to the first week of December 2024. Against that, "Michael Harlan" is a common enough name that the series may be catching unrelated people, and Trends discloses no searcher or count.
