The rest of the notice is standard: applications through judicialvacancy.utah.gov, the Judicial Nominating Commission's role, the Governor's thirty days to make a selection, minimum age and residency requirements under Article VIII of the Utah Constitution, the retirement formula, and the terms — "The annual salary is $213,900 for a District Court Judge, 20 days paid vacation per year, 11 paid holidays, $25,000 term life insurance policy" with optional additional coverage and a choice of medical and dental plans.
This is the earliest document in the judicial-timeline set, and it is what anchors the sequence: the vacancy was posted in January 2025, more than seven months before Judge Lunnen's retirement took effect and nearly eight months before September 10.
