What This Image Shows

This screenshot captures the header of an essay on The Unz Review: the title "The Assassination of Charlie Kirk," the byline Ron Unz, the date September 15, 2025, and the length markers "6,000 Words" and "589 Comments." Below the header is a photograph of Charlie Kirk speaking into a microphone at a Turning Point USA event, wearing a black shirt reading TRUMP over HARRIS, with another person in a plaid shirt seated behind him.

The essay was published five days after the assassination and is one of the earliest long-form pieces to argue the foreign-involvement question in public. Unz is a commentator and publisher, not an investigator, and the essay is opinion writing. It is included in this cluster because it is a dated primary document in the record of how the theory formed, and because the passage on the next page has been quoted repeatedly since.

Nothing here shows that any person or government had advance knowledge of the assassination or any role in it. Prosecutors have charged a domestic suspect who has not been convicted, and no Israeli individual or institution has been shown to have any connection to Charlie Kirk's death.

See Israel motivation, foreign leads, and Israel as main suspect.
