It reads in full: "A month before Charlie Kirk's killing, billionaire pro-Israel moneyman Bill Ackman arranged an intervention in the Hamptons during which sources say he and others 'hammered' Kirk for the conservative leader's growing criticism of Israeli influence in Washington. Kirk came away fretting about Israeli 'blackmail,' sources say, as he contemplated a Catholic conversion."

Read the sentence structure carefully, because it is doing careful work. "Sources say" governs both the word "hammered" and the word "blackmail" — these are characterizations attributed to unnamed people, not quotes from Kirk and not statements by Bill Ackman, who has not been accused of any offense and whose account of the gathering is not represented here. What the passage reports is that a meeting happened in early August 2025 and that people who knew about it described it in those terms.

It is journalism based on unnamed sources, not a court record or an investigative finding. Nothing here shows that any person or government had advance knowledge of the assassination or any role in it. Prosecutors have charged a domestic suspect who has not been convicted, and no Israeli individual or institution has been shown to have any connection to Charlie Kirk's death.
