Harrison Smith Repost — Who Blamed Israel First

Dark mode screenshot of a post by Harrison H Smith quoting his own earlier post about Charlie Kirk and Israel

What This Image Shows

This is a self-quote post. Harrison H. Smith writes at the top: "I don't know who needs to hear this AGAIN but the person who blamed Charlie Kirk's murder on Israel... was Charlie Kirk." Nested below it is his own earlier post: "I'm not gonna name names, but I was told by someone close to Charlie Kirk that Charlie thinks Israel will kill him if he turns against them." Engagement figures visible on the post are 268 replies, 1.5K reposts, 7.2K likes, and 99K views.

The framing device is worth noticing, because it is the rhetorical hinge of this whole thread. Smith is deflecting the charge of making an accusation by attributing the accusation to the deceased. But his own nested post does not quote Kirk. It relays an unnamed intermediary's account of what Kirk supposedly feared, which is a materially weaker thing than Kirk blaming anyone.

Nothing here shows that any person or government had advance knowledge of the assassination or any role in it. Prosecutors have charged a domestic suspect who has not been convicted, and no Israeli individual or institution has been shown to have any connection to Charlie Kirk's death.
