Overhead of the Packed Courtyard on Event Day
What This Image Shows
An overhead aerial of the UVU courtyard on the day of the event, with the crowd filling the terraced lawn and spilling along the concrete walkways around it. The campus buildings frame the shot: a multi-storey academic block bending in a C shape around the courtyard, a paved plaza with a loop-shaped metal sculpture at the upper left, and flat gravel-textured roofs across the top of the frame.
The watermark reads @universehop00. Along with the companion frame in this cluster it is one of the few genuinely top-down views of the event, and its value is structural: it shows the roof surfaces, parapets and setbacks of the surrounding buildings at the same moment the crowd was in place. Any argument about what a person on a roof could see, or be seen from, has to work against a frame like this one.
It also shows how tightly the audience was packed against the walkways, which bears on how quickly the courtyard could clear and on the movement of people through the plaza in the minutes afterwards. Read it with Question Man for the plaza after the shot, and with Courtyard, Drones and Surveillance Cameras.
