Seat rails collect whatever falls to the floor of a cabin, which is why researchers photograph them. The argument built on this frame is that hard, angular fragments lodged in the runner are the kind of residue a fragmenting device would leave and that ordinary cabin use would not. A companion frame elsewhere in this partition shows the same class of debris packed into the crevice between the seat base and the sill.
The material has not been sampled or identified, and the alternative readings — grit, food debris, or glass carried in from elsewhere — remain open.
