What This Image Shows​

This frame is the one that shows the scene rather than a detail: multiple units, a downtown street, an item being handled as evidence in the open. Together with the annotated close-up in this cluster it establishes that a long gun was recovered at this stop and treated as evidence.

What the frame does not establish is what the item was. The identification circulated afterward is that it was a .177 caliber break-barrel air rifle rather than a firearm — the point of the product-listing screenshot filed nearby. Early reporting on the day of the shooting was confused about how many people were in custody and what had been recovered, and researchers argue that confusion was never properly cleared up on the record.
