An Early Name Attached to the Crowd Man

A screenshot of a post on X by the account Lucra, handle @lucrafund, dated September 11, 2025 — one day after the shooting. Below the post text is a two-panel composite: on the left a circular cropped portrait of a young man with long fair hair and a black beanie, on the right a screenshot of an Instagram profile under the username int_outlier showing 4 posts, 75 followers, and a bio describing the account holder as a writer and philosopher.
The post attaches the name Matt Taber to the man seen reacting in the crowd at Utah Valley University, and links onward to another account as its source. That is the entire evidentiary basis: an assertion, a face crop, and a profile page.
The identification did not hold. Citizen researchers later moved away from this name toward others, and no reliable on-the-record source has confirmed any of them. Nothing about a person's reaction in a crowd during a shooting establishes knowledge of it or involvement in it, and no authority has accused this individual of anything.
