Street View — 22 S 200 W, Joe Vera's Corner
What This Image Shows
A wide Google Street View capture of a downtown Provo street corner on a clear autumn day. A two-storey peach stucco building housing Joe Vera's Mexican Restaurant occupies the left of the frame; a modern convention center building stands behind on the right. An electric scooter is parked on the sidewalk and the shadow of the camera car falls across the asphalt. The interface reads 22 S 200 W, Provo, Utah, image capture Oct 2022.
This is the ground-level reference for the block. Joe Vera's, at 201 W Center St, is one of the specific landmarks named in the circulated accounts of where the man carrying an air rifle was seen and stopped. Street View lets a reader stand at the corner and check the lampposts, sidewalk material and building lines against the bystander frames in the parent cluster.
The capture predates the events by nearly three years, which is exactly what makes it useful as a control: it shows the fixed geography without anything from that day in it. Matching a black classical lamppost and a brick-and-concrete sidewalk from a 2022 Street View to a 2025 phone video is how a claimed location becomes a confirmed one. Nothing here concerns any person. See Locations and Pellet Gun Man.
