A Researcher Desktop Mid Comparison
What This Image Shows
A screenshot of somebody's macOS desktop with several windows stacked. The front window is Preview in markup mode, showing a cropped photograph of a woman in sunglasses and a striped shirt standing near a man in a plaid shirt outdoors. Behind and below it sits a larger photograph of eight U.S. Army soldiers posed in front of a "Best Redleg" competition banner, and behind that another partly hidden window showing a crowd.
This is not evidence about the case. It is evidence about the method — a picture of the comparison being made, caught mid-process, with the markup toolbar active and the crop still open. Somebody was cutting a face out of a crowd photograph to hold against an Army team portrait.
That is worth preserving precisely because it makes the technique legible. The "Best Redleg" photographs recur across this partition, in Conor Dority and Sanchez, and the comparisons built from them remain unverified. No soldier in the team photograph is named or accused of anything. See Scott Wilson for the rest of this thread.
