What This Image Shows
A high-angle wide shot of the courtyard at full capacity: a dense crowd of mostly young adults across the concrete plaza, with the staircases, walkways and balconies of the surrounding brutalist buildings also filled with spectators. Hard sunlight, strong shadows, no annotation of any kind on the frame.
Unmarked wide shots like this one do the quiet work in an investigation. They fix crowd density, the position of the sun and therefore the approximate time of day, the extent of the barricaded areas, and — most usefully for this cluster — which elevated positions were occupied by members of the public. Every claimed firing position has to be reconciled with the people standing near it.
The image is filed with the south-side material and carries no timestamp on its face, so it should be read as scene reference rather than as a timed frame. A stitched panoramic version of a very similar view, with an arrow added by its maker, is filed separately in this cluster.
