Dashed Line Drawn Across the Stage
What This Image Shows

A yellow dashed diagonal line has been drawn onto the picture, running from the lower left to the upper right.
The dashed line is unlabelled. In the visual grammar of this material it stands for a proposed path — a line of fire, a sight line, or a relationship between two points — but the maker has not written down which, or named either end of it.
That omission matters. A line drawn on a two-dimensional photograph carries no depth information at all: the same drawn diagonal is consistent with an enormous range of real three-dimensional paths depending on how far away each end is. Nothing can be concluded from it without a measured reconstruction of the kind attempted in the trajectory diagrams on the parent page.
