About This Cluster​

Doug DeGroote is listed on Turning Point USA's own governance page as a member of its board of directors alongside Charlie Kirk, Erika Kirk, David Engelhardt, Mike Miller and Tom Sodeika. He became a subject of discussion in this investigation because of the internal split that opened inside the organisation after September 10, 2025, over Candace Owens and her coverage of Charlie Kirk's death. Board service is a documented fact; everything said about his conduct in that split is an unverified secondhand account and is presented that way here.

The single image is a screenshot of a single incoming text message on a phone, timestamped 12:53 PM. The sender describes the internal atmosphere in the poster's own words: "Not bad man we have all been laying low a bit. There's definitely some people in the company trying to find out who the pro and anti Candace people are. The only thing I know for sure is the board member Doug DeGroote has been the one pushing the managers and people at HQ to say Candace is crazy. I really don't know anything about him besides him having a financial group he runs." The sender is anonymous, the recipient is unidentified, and nothing in the message has been corroborated.

That is gossip, and it is labelled gossip. It is preserved because internal factional pressure inside the organisation after Charlie Kirk's death is a real and relevant question, and because this message is one of the few contemporaneous artefacts of it — not because the characterisation in it is accepted.
