The cap exchange is worth stating plainly because it is the ordinary background against which every claim in this section has to be read: objects moved across the table line constantly, in both directions, all afternoon. Caps were thrown up to be signed and thrown back. Any argument that a particular hand movement was unusual has to survive that fact.
