A near-perfect profile at press resolution is a useful comparison plate, because profile geometry - nose line, brow, chin, ear placement - survives lighting changes better than a three-quarter view does. That is why both vigil frames were kept: they are the highest-quality reference images available of a man in a light blue plaid shirt connected to this circle of events.
