About This Cluster​

These two vertical frames are pulled from a TikTok clip posted under the handle @caseypbryson and filmed from inside the crowd at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. They look toward the barricade line and the ground behind the tent, and researchers saved them because a man in a black shirt, black cap and a large black backpack is visible standing among the security personnel and event staff in that zone. A watermark reading BYU appears in one frame alongside the TikTok handle.

The interest in this figure comes from the running-suspect descriptions logged in the investigation file. Construction worker Dylan Hope reportedly described encountering a man immediately after the shooting in a black mask, black cargo pants and a dark coat carrying a small backpack, and police dispatch that day reportedly broadcast a description of a suspect in all black. Researchers who circulated these frames argue the man in them fits the same general description and was standing in a controlled area rather than in the public crowd. That is a resemblance claim about clothing, drawn from a low-resolution phone video with heavy motion blur, and it identifies nobody. No authority has connected any person in these frames to the shooting.

What the frames genuinely establish is crowd and barricade geometry - who was permitted behind the line, how close the public stood to the vehicles, and what the sightline from the crowd to the rear of the tent looked like.
