The labels read that the cap featured a triangular logo, that the black T-shirt carried a US flag and eagle and was similar to clothing easily available online, that the shirt bore the words Land of the Free, Home of the Brave, and that Converse trainers left an imprint in the ground. The image credit reads Images: FBI, eBay — meaning the surveillance frame came from the federal release and the garment comparisons came from a retail listing. That is worth noticing, because the phrase easily available online is doing a quiet job in both directions: it tells a reader the shirt is not rare, which cuts against treating it as a unique identifier.
The underlying description matches the charging affidavit almost word for word, including the Converse-style shoe impression. What a news graphic cannot do is establish who was wearing the clothing.
